During this year’s second edition of the Culinary Wine & Food Noble Night Festival the Copernicus restaurant has been awarded first place in the “main dish” category - for the Guinea fowl breast in sweet sauce with artichoke. Restaurant also receive Noble Concierge Recommendation for year 2009.

On a nice spring Saturday evening, April 18th 2009, the newest hotel of Likus Hotels and Restaurants group, the legendary Monopol hotel was open. The opening speeches were delivered by: the president of the city of Wroclaw, Rafal Dutkiewicz and His Excellency Cardinal Gulbinowicz, and on behalf of the owners Wieslaw Likus.

At the end of January in Warsaw, during the 9th Competition of the Italian Culinary Art, the cooks from Copernicus Restaurant, Marcin Filipkiewicz and Tomasz Dziura, took the third, medal place. The dishes awarded were “cooked tripe with scampi and dried tomatoes and pasta with artichoke, prosciutto, dried tomatoes, olive and garlic”.

Luxury, five star Stary Hotel, situated in a patrician historical house, next to the Main Square in Krakow, has been recognized by the Polish hotel professionals as the best in Poland. This, especially precious Tophotel 2008 award for the best hotel in Poland, is awarded by the hotel industry professionals voting for only one hotel in the country.

Copernicus Hotel of Krakow, one of the Likus Hotels and Restaurants group, has been chosen the winner of the renowed international competition World Travel Awards 2008 as the best hotel in Poland. (1st place in the category: Poland’s Leading Hotel).

In a renowned Paris competition Prix Villegiature, in category ‘Best hotel interior design in Europe 2007’, The Stary Hotel from Krakow has come first. The historic building of the Likus Hotels and Restaurants group in the finals has left behind the most distinguished hotels in Europe. It was the first time in the history of the competition that a hotel in Poland had been awarded.

The Liwa Holding, which owns luxurious hotels located in buildings of great historic value, is involved in the widely-known restoration activity, which is highly appreciated in the circles of art historians.
Another company’s investment, connected with erecting the residential and office building at Miodowa street, has resulted in renovation of the stone wall surrounding the old Jewish cemetery, located next to the Remuh synagogue.
