19th of January 2012, Juliusz Słowacki Theatre in Krakow

Antonio Vivaldi's Catone in Utica is a dramma per musica in 3 acts (only 2 of the acts survive though). The piece is based on Pietr Metastasio's libretto, which premiered at the Venice Teatro Filarmonico in 1737.

The world premiere of Vivaldi's opera L'Oracolo in Mesenia, held on the 8th of December at the Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic Hall in Krakow will be aired by 17 radio stations!

National Museum in Krakow - Main Building, al. 3 Maja 1

For the first time in Poland, the National Museum in Krakow presents an exhibition of works by Joseph Mallord William Turner, greatest of the English Romantic painters and precursor of Impressionism and Symbolism, an artist who, in his landscapes of water and clouds, came close to abstract painting.

After the September concerts of great masses, Capella Cracoviensis orchestra changes the mood in October. In the frames of the Carte Blanche concerts we will hear a magnificent oboist, already known to the Kraków audience – Alfredo Bernardini. He will play and conduct the concerts with 18th-century dance music and a programme called The Golden Age of Oboe, focused on the Baroque incarnation of this instrument.

The Conrad Festival is not devoted to the creative works of Joseph Conrad! The author of Heart of Darkness lends his name as patron of the World Literature Feast. It has to be said that not many Polish writers have so far achieved such widespread international success while creating in a foreign language.
