Copernicus the most prestigious hotel in Poland

Holding Liwa. Press Release, 1 August, 2008

Copernicus – in the opinion of businessmen the most prestigious hotel in Poland
In the most recent rating of 25 most prestigious hotels in Poland, published in Forbes Magazine (no 8/2008), three Krakow hotels owned by the Likus Hotels and Restaurants group swept top three places. The Copernicus Hotel was awarded the first price. The Stary Hotel and Pod Różą Hotel came second and third, respectively.

The crushing victory over rivals – the best hotels in Poland -  was a result of over 100 votes coming from Polish entrepreneurs and managers who were giving ratings on a scale of 1 to 100 to the chosen hotels. Consequently, 25 hotels which received the highest ratings were put on a shortlist. The most significant criteria this year appeared to be privacy and luxury. Peace and quiet, in which one can hold a meeting, designer décor of stylish, gothic palace and excellent cuisine (The Copernicus Restaurant, as the only one in Poland, has the nomination of the Michelin guidebook, searching out the best restaurants in the world) were the elements which secured the ultimate victory of  Krakow hotel located in a sheltered spot at Kanonicza street, in close vicinity of the Wawel Hill.

The Stary Hotel was awarded second prize for the ‘essence of taste, design, terrace on the roof and swimming pools in the vaults.’ The Pod Różą Hotel, as ‘a quiet Biedermeier stop in the epicentre of Old Krakow,’ won third prize.

The other hotels in the top ten of the rating list were; La Regina from Warsaw, Hotel SPA Dr Irena Eris Wzgórza Dylewskie, and the Warsaw Bristol, Sheraton, Westin and Hyatt Regency.

The hotels of the Likus Hotels and Restaurants group yet again gained recognition among the most influential representatives of Polish business; in past years the Katowice Monopol also enjoyed popularity among Silesian businessmen (this year came 24th). This year, however, victory of the Krakow hotels is unprecedented. We are convinced that comfort in which our guests can hold important meetings, excellent cuisine of our restaurants and modern conference facilities will be still valued among Polish businessmen, to whom we would like to express our gratitude and thanks for their favourable opinions.
